This web site is maintained by Living Well with COPD and is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.

By using this web site, you agree to be bound by, and to comply with, the terms of use on this page ("Terms of Use"). Living Well with COPD reserves the right to change the Terms of Use from time to time, as necessary, and will provide notice, on this page, of any such changes, including the date they became effective. You may access this page at any time through the Terms of Use link at the bottom of each page on this web site.

 

Intellectual property notice

This Living well with COPD web site, including any content appearing on or accessible through the site, is protected by copyright. Any adaptation or modification thereof is hereby strictly prohibited unless expressly authorized. To request an authorization, please contact us.

All written educational modules of the Living Well with COPD series can be viewed online and/or downloaded for personal use for free. Distribution of these materials is strictly prohibited.

 

LWWCOPD.com website explanation

Our materials are free for personal use but are not intended to be printed in large quantities by other organizations. Due to the need to protect the integrity/copyright of the content, our modules contain a copyright watermark and we are unable to share unprotected copies of the materials. However, images and content can be used, if properly referenced. Please contact us should you have any questions about properly referencing our materials.

Furthermore, we do not have any printed educational material to give away, since the grants we have successfully secured are related to developing the website and new materials only (modules, videos, etc.). 

As a secondary option to downloading the materials from our website, we recently made our modules available for purchase on Amazon. Alternatively, we could provide you with a quote for the cost of printing materials should you desire to purchase in bulk.


We therefore suggest a couple of options:

  1. If your patient can access the document online, you can encourage them to create an account and download it themselves.
  2. If they cannot access online but would like a printed copy, it can be purchased through Amazon. The approximate cost would be $20.00/module CAD.
  3. If you are looking to print in bulk, we require an order of minimum 50 copies of the same document and increments of 50 thereafter. We can have the copies shipped to you at a discounted price. The approximate cost would be $7-9/module CAD + tax and applicable fees. However, you would be responsible for covering the shipping and handling fees. We will process printing only once we have received payment.

While Living Well with COPD continually updates the information contained herein, new products and research findings may come to light which are not listed or accounted for here. Some of the products listed may no longer be available, and changes in the names of manufacturers and products may have occurred since this information was compiled. 

 

Registration and Privacy policy

In order to have access to the full versions of educational materials and other educational tools, you must first complete the registration form and create a user account. Our web site’s registration form asks users to give us contact information, unique identifiers, and demographic information. All registration information is submitted to us on a voluntary basis.

We will not require you to provide more information than is necessary create a user account or receive updates via our mailing list.

Personal information collected at this web site may include:

  • for people identifying themselves as health professionals, you will need to indicate your field of profession, the name of your institution, city, state and country

When creating an account at our web site, you will be required to identify yourself as a health professional, a person living with COPD, a friend or relative of a person living with COPD, or a person interested in learning about COPD. You are responsible for providing accurate information. You understand that depending on the choice selected you may have access to different information and materials. Living Well with COPD is not responsible of any damages occurred by a false declaration.

Living Well with COPD reserves the right, if you violate the Terms of Use, to suspend or terminate any account you have created on this web site.

 

Use of Information

We collect information to find out which pages in our web site people visited, how often and how long they stayed. In addition, we may use demographic data combined with information you provide, and use this aggregate information to better design our web site and to improve our educational materials. We may share this aggregate non-nominative information with our advertisers, licensees, and/or other business partners with whom we link. We do not sell, barter, trade or give away your personally identifiable information to any third parties.
